God's Love Persists. The Lover was too good to give up on us.We stray from God, choose to take other "lovers." But God's love is unfailing, enduring.
When we allow God's love to dwell deep within us, when we believe and trust in Jesus' persistent love, the natural result will be selfless concern for others expressed in action. Our role is to be stewards of the love and blessings we're given.
How did Zacchaeus, who was a rich tax collector and, like all of us, a sinner, respond to Jesus' love? He committed to redirect his material blessings to the poor and reconcile the broken relationships in his life. "Look," he said to Jesus, "half of my possessions, Lord, I will give to the poor; and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I will pay back four times as much." (Luke 19:8)
Today, we offer thanks to God for his love and seek direction, together and individually, as to how we should respond.
