Reason to BelieveHe proved his love for us.
God's love leaves little room for doubt. His actions speak loudly of his relentless and unconditional love for us.
Jesus walked this earth, felt the pain and suffering of being human. He, by choice, went to the desert for forty days, where he was "tempted by the devil" and became "famished" (Luke 4:1-13). Jesus preached and lived a message of service and suffering.
He said that he " . . . came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." (Matthew 20:28) Jesus spent his final hours washing the feet of his disciples (John 13:1-17) before being betrayed, tortured, mocked and finally, with the torment and violence of the cross, murdered.
God proves his love for us through Jesus, God's unique gift and sacrifice given to save the world. To doubt God's love for us is to deny all that he's chosen to do through Jesus. And herein is God's message: Believe in Jesus, my Son. Follow his example. Suffer and serve. Live in sacrificial love.
