Alex Gee - Prayer

Harnessing the passion and energy of the night's worship, Pastor Alex Gee concluded the evening's session in personal praises and corporate prayer. Jumping with joy, Pastor Gee called for individuals to shout out praises of "what the Lord has done for me," which culminated in a "holy chaos." By reminding people that worship is not for the flawless but the broken, he urged Urbana worshippers to "lift your voices." Urbana worshippers heeded the call, as their voices melded together in a chorus of praises and hallelujahs to their awesome God. Finally, Pastor Gee prayed over those gathered, asking God to "do something for you" and "do something with you." With those two requests, Pastor Gee set the expectations for Urbana worshippers to experience God in a deeper way.

Concluding Prayer:

God, I pray for hunger in the souls of people, of your daughters and your sons, so that, like Simeon, they would be able to recognize You, even if You come in forms that are unfamiliar to them. I pray for the hunger that Simeon had, that allowed him to see the Christ when the religious folks couldn't see Him. Allow this delegation to see You. And secondly, Lord, I pray that these folks will experience God and that experiencing You is more important than just getting busy for You . We pray that You would just reveal yourself to Your people. Have Your way in us, Father. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
