Urbana 2000 Convention
Urbana
2000 Speakers:
Paul Borthwick
Paul
Borthwick serves as a Senior Consultant on the staff of Development
Associates International, a training group dedicated to the character
and ministry development of leaders in the under-resourced world. Paul
teaches missions at Gordon College and dedicates himself to mobilizing
others for cross-cultural missions as a resource person, teacher, speaker,
and author.
His books, A Mind for Missions and Six Dangerous Questions have been featured as "book-of-the-day" at past Urbanas.
Paul and his wife, Christie, a microbiologist, have been married for 21 years. They minister from their home base in Lexington, Massachusetts, but they travel internationally 10-16 weeks per year. They both attended Urbana 73 - before they met - and then again in '81, '87, '90, and '93. They come back to Urbana to evaluate God's call on their own lives regarding cross-cultural ministry.
In their spare time, Paul & Christie enjoy bird-watching - and have seen over 1100 of the world's 9000 species. One of their dreams is to take a river trip into the Amazon Rain Forest. They have traveled to 95 countries.
