Urbana 2000 Speakers:
Paul Borthwick

Paul Borthwick serves as a Senior Consultant on the staff of Development Associates International, a training group dedicated to the character and ministry development of leaders in the under-resourced world. Paul teaches missions at Gordon College and dedicates himself to mobilizing others for cross-cultural missions as a resource person, teacher, speaker, and author.

His books, A Mind for Missions and Six Dangerous Questions have been featured as "book-of-the-day" at past Urbanas.

Paul and his wife, Christie, a microbiologist, have been married for 21 years. They minister from their home base in Lexington, Massachusetts, but they travel internationally 10-16 weeks per year. They both attended Urbana 73 - before they met - and then again in '81, '87, '90, and '93. They come back to Urbana to evaluate God's call on their own lives regarding cross-cultural ministry.

In their spare time, Paul & Christie enjoy bird-watching - and have seen over 1100 of the world's 9000 species. One of their dreams is to take a river trip into the Amazon Rain Forest. They have traveled to 95 countries.

""Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.""

Matthew 24:12-14 (NIV)
