The Urbana 03 Offering
At
Urbana 03, you will be informed and confronted by the immense spiritual
and physical needs of people in other parts of the world. You will hear
biblical teaching about stewardship and a gentle confrontation of North
American consumer culture. You will also be given an opportunity to share
with those far less fortunate than ourselves through an offering. In addition,
during the convention, lunch will not be served one day, and delegates
will be encouraged to spend the time in fasting and prayer. The money saved
will be combined with the offering.
Recipients of the offering include 10 different projects among Muslim peoples from Afghanistan to the Philippines. Many are suffering the ravages of war. We plan to help provide housing, security, evangelism, education, and leadership training through agencies which have an excellent track record and have been carefully screened and selected.
In addition, this year we plan to aid nine national student mission conferences in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean, some of which will be held for the first time.

If you are planning to attend the convention, or even if you aren’t, we would like to ask you to prayerfully think about the contribution you might like to make to the Urbana 03 Offering. Your gift can make a life changing contribution to real people through agencies that are personally familiar with their desperate situations. We have felt led to ask each delegate to consider giving a gift of at least $52.63.
