Urbana Archives

Urbana 03 will feature 300 engaging seminars about God’s Kingdom. Seminars are the most personalized aspect of your Urbana experience: you can tailor your schedule to address your specific areas of interest. Choose to explore specific areas of world mission more deeply, from arts ministry to social justice to personal prayer.

Seminars also provide opportunities to interact with missionaries, InterVarsity staff, and teachers on the cutting edge of world mission. Each seminar will have question and answer periods with the leader, and we hope you will pursue one-on-one time with seminar leaders after the sessions. Seminars are also available specifically for international students, graduate students and faculty, and various ethnic groups.

Browse our current list of seminars by category below. A complete list of seminars will be available at the convention.

I went to a seminar yesterday on AIDS. The seminar brought together my medical training and my desire to serve the Lord in a third world nation. I’m really excited about the opportunities that God might have for me this summer if he leads me into his service in Africa.

Receive Seminary Credit for Urbana 03
Did you know that after you have successfully registered for Urbana 03, you have the amazing opportunity to receive credit for your Urbana experience?

Participating seminaries are: Asbury Theological Seminary, Fuller Theological Seminary, Lincoln Christian Seminary and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Click here for more information.

Please note that if you enroll in a seminary credit course, Urbana 03 will not automatically reserve space for you in the convention, so be sure to register online for Urbana 03 before registering for these courses. This will ensure your spot at Urbana 03.

Schedule

You will have the opportunity to attend up to two seminars each afternoon at the convention. Different seminars will be offered each afternoon, and each seminar (with the exception of several longer prayer ministry sessions) will be offered three times (2-3, 3:30-4:30, and 5-6). Your meal schedule will prevent your attending three seminars in a given afternoon. Please prayerfully consider how to spend your afternoons at the convention and which seminars to attend.

You are free to attend any seminar you wish, regardless of category. Seminars do have a limited capacity, however, and many will fill up. We therefore recommend you arrive early to your seminar room.

"All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us."

2 Corinthians 5:18-20 (NIV)
