Japanese Delegation Travels from ... Japan!
Nick Johnson
One group of delegates at the International Student Track at Urbana may receive the prize for traveling the furthest to get to Urbana The other side of the world! Thirty-one committed Christian delegates arrived early Saturday morning in the United States, coming directly from Japan. They came with one purpose: To attend Urbana in Illinois and meet God in exciting new ways and bring His vision for the world back to a very needy country spiritually.
With the group are two Japanese pastors. They are serving at Tokyo Biblical Seminary in Tokyo, Japan. They heard about Urbana through one of the students who attended the Convention three years ago. That group grew from one to 31. In fact, that one student who attended Urbana 2000 heard God's call at Urbana to become a pastor! That delegate has brought a small army with her to also hear His call on their lives to serve Jesus in Japan. Only 1% of citizens in Japan claim any connection whatsoever to Christianity, so the need there is immense!
These delegates are praying that God would raise up many more pastors and missionaries to go to Japan. They are hoping to be equipped and challenged by their time at this year's Urbana. Pray that God will speak to this Japanese delegation attending Urbana and the International Student Track at Urbana and be change agents on the other side of the world!
