Business Plan Competition - Judging Criteria
Judges will evaluate business plans with a triple-bottom-line approach: looking for financial, social, and spiritual impact. The questions below are ones that judges will be asking of a plan. Visit the Submit Entry page to see specific guidelines and the points system that judges will use.
- Is the business model feasible given current market conditions?
- How fundable is the business? Will it be able to meet its capital requirements?
- Will the business be profitable? Are the financial models rigorous and realistic?
- How scalable or replicable is the business?
- Is the business socially responsible? Does it treat workers fairly and consider environmental impact?
- How much does the business create economic opportunity in an under-developed community? How many jobs are created? How rigorous and realistic are these projections?
- Does the business plan demonstrate an understanding of the cultural dynamics of its chosen context (e.g., sentiment toward Christians or security issues in certain countries)?
- Does the business further the mission of the indigenous local church?
- To what extent does the business make an impact in an under-evangelized community? How rigorous and realistic are these projections?
- How are profits utilized?
- How much do the economic, social, and spiritual dimensions feed and build off each other?
- How strong is the management team (e.g., experience and training in relevant industries and issue areas)? Is it equipped to execute a triple-bottom-line philosophy?
