A monthly guide to praying for Urbana 06, InterVarsity's 21st Student Missions Convention.
March 2010

Week of February 5
- We thank all of you who have faithfully prayed with us up to and through Urbana 06!! We appreciate each one of you and rejoice with you in how the Lord answered our prayers at Urbana. Please go to our website and share with us by logging onto different talks, worship times, etc. to see how God was glorified at Urbana.
- Many of us will be leaving our Urbana jobs, and some have already left these jobs. Please pray the Lord would lead each one of us to finish well in our Urbana jobs and to trust Him to show us how and where we are to partner with Him in new jobs.
- Ask the Lord to continue to prompt people to write in their Urbana stories to bless us all!
Week of March 26
- Urbana Theater Team - Pray that our multi-ethnic team of creative script writers would finish the last draft of our script which will be presented during our Urbana Plenary Sessions.
- Urbana Seminars - Pray for the seminar leaders as they consider their invitations and respond. Pray for God's selection of leaders to be confirmed and for their timely responses.
- Urbana Exhibitors - Ask God to enable the application process to open smoothly and that the exhibitors would apply early.
- Urbana Delegates - Please pray that God would call students from every ethnicity and from all over the country to come to Urbana 06 and hear and feel His heart for the world.
Week of March 19
- Urbana registration - We are thankful to God for the different parts of Urbana registration which have come online and are working well. Please pray that the other parts of Urbana registration would come online in a timely and "glitch free" way.
- Intercession and Prayer Ministry co-coordinators for Urbana - ask God to confirm the team leaders for their respective Urbana teams and the Lord would call clearly each of their InterVarsity team members and non-InterVarsity staff team members.
- Urbana Unity Choir - Pray for the Lord to raise up a multi-ethnic choir from churches in and around St. Louis to participate in Urbana 06 and to be led by our Urbana Worship Leader, Daryl Black.
- Seminar Leaders - ask God to give Lucy Meade wisdom and discernment as she continues to choose whom to invite to Urbana as Seminar Leaders.
Week of March 12
- Please pray for our Urbana Operations Team Meeting in St. Louis March 13th-17th as they work together with Convention and Dome staff and others on logistics, details and staffing needs.
- Pray for our growing relationships with our brothers and sisters in Christ in St. Louis, that we might partner together to see God’s vision for Urbana 06 come to fruition in December 06.
- Please pray for the Plenary Platform Advisory Committee meeting on March 18th in Madison led by Lucille Badger, Urbana's Plenary Manager. Pray that they would hear God clearly, work well together and God would enable them to share His vision for what He wants to do during our Plenary sessions at Urbana 06.
Week of March 5
- We praise God for Urbana’s progress with fund development, but also ask that he would raise up more financial partners to give generously to Urbana.
- Please pray that the Lord would continue to call the needed staff to fill our open positions in the Urbana Operations Team. And that the Lord would raise up just the right people to fill the positions we still have open.
- Please pray for Convention Staff and Volunteer Manager, Rachel Bawden, as she discerns the different jobs to be filled at this Urbana and who to recruit from both InterVarsity Staff and other volunteers to do the different jobs.
Week of February 27
- Pray for the Urbana Theater Team as they finish a script and prepare to invite actors and actresses to perform at Urbana.
- Please pray for our Urbana Prayer Ministry Leadership Team as they meet together in St. Louis from March 2-5 to pray, strategize and join other prayer ministry people from St. Louis and other cities at a Spiritual Healing conference March 4th at St. Louis University.
- Urbana.org Team asks for prayer for wisdom in producing quality articles, book reviews and more.
- Please pray for the Urbana Worship Team as they minister at the Multiethnic Staff Conference this week.
Week of February 20
- Director of Urbana, Jim Tebbe, has a heavy traveling schedule - Pray for appropriate rest, clear communications, and the ability to delegate and supervise well.
- February 20th is the first meeting of the “Urbana Plenary Program Advisory Committee” - Pray that they would know God’s presence and hear his voice.
- Pray for Andrea Menz, new Urbana Registrar, as she learns her job and answers questions for people about registration, which went “online” January 31st.
- Please pray for the Urbana Worship Team as they minister at the LaFe Staff Conference this weekend.
