Urbana 06 Seminars
Urbana 06 featured more than 200 seminars and workshops led by ministry leaders, missionaries, and InterVarsity staff, as well as by lay Christians applying God’s purposes to their lives everywhere from the boardroom to the living room. These seminars were categorized into 16 Urbana Majors and 4 Residential Tracks.
We encourage you to choose one of the 16 majors or 5 tracks as your "Urbana major" once you arrive. Each has been designed to help you go deeper in a particular area; seminars in the majors build on each other, ranging from the big-picture to the very specific and practical. By choosing an Urbana major you will be able to focus in, gain a breadth of information, and network with other delegates who have similar interests as well as seminar leaders and mentors with expertise in that area.
Majors will not be chosen at registration. No sign-up is necessary – just go to the seminars of your choosing. You are not limited to taking seminars only from one major – in fact, "Gen Ed" seminars are offered each afternoon.
Residential Tracks
Included in the Urbana 06 seminar offerings are four special residential tracks designed to provide in-depth teaching on a particular subject area. Attendees who sign up for a residential track are housed together and participate in special track functions as well as the general Urbana 06 program. You will have an opportunity to sign up for a track during the online registration process. A special program for pastors and church leaders will also be offered at Urbana 06. It includes afternoon seminars, special bible studies and evening programming. Pastors and church leaders will have the option to be housed with other leaders on a space available basis.
