Art:  It was in 1970 that my wife Mae and I were at Urbana. What an experience! I had returned from Limoncocha, Ecuador in 1968 where I was an STA with Wycliffe Bible Translators but at Urbana I was exposed to the BIG picture in missions. I was a student at Nyack Missionary College.

What Urbana provided me was a feeling of unity. I shall never forget the feeling of oneness as I receieved communion with 1300 other young people that New Year's Eve 1970-71. We were singing "We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord . . . They will know we are Christians by our love."

That has been my guiding chorus, showing God's love through me because I am born again and encouraging others at home to get involved as lay people for Bible translation around the world. 12/21/99
