Questions for Manuscript Study
edited by Lindsay Olesberg

Ephesians 3:1-21

Interpretation

  1. Why is the joining of “the nations” and Israel a mystery?
  2. How is the wisdom of God made known through the church?
  3. Why is Paul moved to prayer? Why does he pray specifically for this?
  4. How does Paul’s prayer connect to the previous sections?

Application

  1. How faithful are you to our calling as Christians to proclaim the gospel? What steps can you take to be an active witness to Christ?
  2. The global church is the means by which God is revealing himself to spiritual and human powers. It is more important than any country, government, race, or institution. In what ways do you need to repent of having more hope and confidence in other entities than you do in the global church?
  3. What practical steps can you take to learn more about, encourage, advocate for, and pray for the global church?
  4. How can you more fully participate in a local expression of Christ’s global church?
  5. Where is reconciliation between groups of people needed on your campus or in your city? How can you promote that reconciliation?
