Summary: What an excellently thorough book on the history of Asian Americans! This book addresses each specific Asian group, their encounters with American culture, and their struggles to create a place for themselves here. This book was personally engaging for me, an Asian American with a very small concept of my heritage. I had a new understanding of how Asians came to make a place for themselves in America. "Strangers..." is a book for those looking to more deeply understand the legacy of the Asians in America that have come a long way from working the cane fields of Hawaii to owning an established place in American society.
