Roy Stephen Role on urbana.org: Director Birthplace: India Background: I was born in South India to parents from two different language groups. I loved North India, where I did my higher education. My life and experiences in North India solidified my passion for evangelism and made clear to me the importance of cross-cultural missions. Family: Married to my trusted friend Becky for 13 yrs, One son, Joshua, lively, funny and a great joy Education: Allahabad Agricultural Institute, India (AAI)(BS in Agricultural Sciences); AAI (MS in Mycology and Plant Pathology); Banaras Hindu University (BHU) (PhD in Mycology and Plant Pathology). Favorite Meal: A good South Indian dinner Best friend: Other than my dear wife? Scott Bessenecker. Scott is the Director of Global Projects for InterVarsity Favorite book: I'm a book-fiend, loving whatever I am reading at the moment. Favorite movie: Les Miserables. Favorite Place: Varanasi is still my favorite place on earth. There's nowhere else like this Hindu "Mecca".
Paul Grant Role on urbana.org: Writer/Editor Birthplace: Boise, Idaho Background: American by birth, I was raised in Europe by missionary parents. I serve as head deacon at Fountain of Life Church in Madison. Family: Married to Becca, and father of Josiah. Favorite Book: the ones I keep returning to include Paul is currently writing the book Blessed are the Uncool.
Jack Voelkel Position with Urbana / InterVarsity: Missionary-in-Residence. Since 1968, Jack and his wife, Mary Anne Voelkel, have served with the Latin America Mission in Colombia, first as student workers and more recently as professors in the Biblical Seminary in Medellin. At present they are Urbana's missionaries-in-residence. Role on urbana.org: Jack, of the "Ask Jack" Column; editor of Great Cloud of Witnesses. Birthplace: Pyongyang, Korea. Family: 1 wife, 3 children, and 7 grandchildren (in three cultures!) Education: Wheaton College (BA in History); Princeton Seminary (M.Div.); Fuller School of World Mission (M.Th. and Doctor of Missiology). Heroes: My Father (Harold Voelkel), John Wesley, William Carey, and Juan Muñoz (Colombian missionary to the Kuripaco tribe). Most Recent Accomplishment: A partial accommodation to American culture after 35 years in Latin America. Favorite Meal: Wonton soup, rice, kimchi, and seaweed. Best friend: My wife, Mary Anne. Life Verse/ Favorite Verse: The Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; your love, O Lord, endures forever - do not abandon the works of your hands (Ps 138:8). Favorite Quote: We are changed not by our experiences but by our decisions. Favorite place: Being in the center of God's will.
Bob Morris Role on urbana.org: Author of our Devotional series on Ephesians. Bob has been involved in mission since the day he was born to missionary parents working with SIM in Nigeria. Since 1968 he has been associated with Interserve (Canada) and has spent 18 of those years living in India, Pakistan, and Cyprus. A major part of his role has been the development of strategies for placing professionals in countries where missionaries are not welcome. His responsibilities also included member care and assessment.
His travels have taken him to Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, Cyprus, Egypt, the Arabian Gulf, India, Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, United Kingdom and the United States.
After returning to Canada in 1997, Bob helped begin The Intercultural Ministries Centre at Tyndale University College & Seminary. TIM Centre became a nexus for all things missional, engaging local churches, colleges and mission agencies in an ongoing trialogue. He retired from TIM Centre in 2004.
Bob married Carol Small in 1996 after his first wife Petie died of cancer, and he is the father of Christopher, and Jonathan. He is the stepfather of Dr. Steve Small and Shelly. Bob is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario, Tyndale University College & Seminary and is trained as a secondary school teacher in History and English.

Don has been a campus minister at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign for more than 20 years and has been involved in 8 Urbana conventions. Don is a member of the Urbana 03 Operations Team. He lives in Urbana with his wife and two children. For many years Don has written the Friday religion column in the Champaign-Urbana News-Gazette.
