Assembly for the Laity in 1977. The authors challenge the laity “to discover how the
Kingdom of God is fashioned out of the common-place events of everyday life.”
Also included is the complete text of “The Chicago Declaration of Christian Concern,”
which was the founding document of the National Center for the Laity in
