Stott uses four New Testament words to promote a united ministry in the church: ecclesia (the church), diakonia (service), martyria (witness) and koinonia (fellowship). While others express clericalist or anticlericalist sentiments, Stott addresses “one people” under God. Though his allusions are British and Anglican, the principles he expounds apply universally.
