PROFIT FOR THE LORD
Danker makes a strong case for missionaries’ calling and obligation to care for natives’ physical needs along with their spiritual needs. He does this by studying the economic activities of two missions groups: the Moravians and the Basel Mission Trading Company. The economic impact of missions activities in Africa, Surinam, Labrador and India are examined. Danker urges the Western church in particular to take James’s admonition to put faith into action. Though written from
an unemotional historical perspective, the book is both readable and compelling. Good for those interested in church history, missions and tent-making. |
