THE TENTMAKER : A Christian Journey Through the Marketplace
review by Pete Hammond
Tan Tien Ser
Self-published, 1998

This is the personal journey of a Singaporean pastor who intentionally left the four walls of his congregation and became a businessman. Along the way he had his eyes opened to the gap between Sunday and Monday and became passionate about closing it. His style is a bit aggressive and passionate, causing one to wonder if he will flame out. But his discoveries are very helpful to others still bound by the institutional captivity of God’s people. He has some wonderful eye-opening interpretations of basic scripture passages that should help any who are skeptical about the validity of the marketplace movement. This work should be published and more widely available.
