Vision
Eden Vigil is an environmental missions initiative which seeks to mobilize, train, and professionally support missionaries who can fully integrate traditional church-planting with effective Creation Care. Eden Vigil places environmental missionaries with other like-minded agencies, particularly those working with least-reached Buddhist, East Asian, Hindu, and Muslim people groups. In this, our primary but not exclusive partner is Christar, our parent organization. Our vision is predicated on the belief that "environmental crisis--and even global climate change in particular--represents the greatest opportunity for church-planting among the least-reached in our generation." An environmental vision for the Church must be built on love for people, and a joy in the glories of Christ evident in His created.

Missions Opportunities
Training Program
Beginning the summer of 2010, Eden Vigil and our partner, Care of Creation, intend to offer a three-week "Summer Institute of Environmental Missions." Professional grads will be trained in cross-cultural ministry skills. Bible college/seminary grads will be trained in environmental development skills. Both groups will be trained in a theology of Creation Care and in the integration of evangelism and Creation Care. Eden Vigil will then help place environmental missionaries with Christar and other traditional cross-cultural agencies, all of whom have their own training requirements for new personnel.
