MSearch Dream Project, The

Founded in 2006

Vision
We work with children orphaned and abandoned by the AIDS epidemic in Mozambique, Africa, providing fresh water, food, medical assistance, education, vocational training, and homes for countless children and families in this war and AIDS ravished country. Most importantly, The Dream Project brings the outrageous love and hope of Jesus to those who so desperately need it. We place children in small, home-like settings with loving Mozambican houseparents. We empower them to be self-supporting leaders in their communities. We also invest in the communities by teaching practical life skills, as well as training in the Word of God. Our desire is to raise up Godly leaders, equipped to help others of spiritual and physical poverty.

Staff
2 full time employees inside North America.
27 field personnel outside North America.

Training Program
We have a variety of training programs depending on the length and type of group. When hosting short-term church teams, we work with the sending church to prepare participants during regular meetings. Topics covered during meetings include cultural differences and adaptation, activity and schedule planning, and spiritual preparation for the mission field. Long-term missionaries are required to complete an application, participate in an interview, and regularly meet with a missions/faith coach in preparation for practical and spiritual difficulties that may be encountered. Part of this training also includes a required reading list to be discussed. As well, there is field training led by more experienced missionaries once groups are actually in Africa.
