Vision
WEC International aspires to be a passionate, flexible, truly international movement whose devotion to Jesus empowers this generation to impact the least reached peoples of the earth with the transforming power of the gospel. Our passion is pioneer evangelism and church planting. Over 70% of our field workers serve in the 10/40 window. Aware of the immensity of this task, we work to empower the indigenous church to send out its own from all over the world. We also demonstrate the compassion of Christ in practical ways such as Rainbows of Hope, a ministry to children at risk and in crisis and Betel, an international ministry to drug addicts and the marginalized.

Training Program
Twice each year we host a 13-week candidate orientation for long-term workers at our WEC USA Sending Base near Philadelphia, PA. Candidate Orientation (CO) is meant to be a transformational experience. Candidates and the Candidate Department are immersed in CO as we form a team-like atmosphere in the context of the sending base, learning and ministering together. We ask the Lord to work in each candidate through the Holy Spirit in this context and to guide the process of preparation. During CO we introduce candidates to member care as an important aspect of ministry within WEC.
WEC Trek, our customized short-term ministry (2 months to 1 year of service)is geared to be a missions discipleship program for those who are considering a deeper missions involvement. WEC Trek has an 8-day orientation at the headquarters along with a 3-day debrief and one year follow up.
The Discovery Teams (around 3 weeks long) are short-term team trips geared for those who are at the beginning stages of missions interest to provide cross-cultural experiences led by an experienced team leader. Discovery teams have a 2-day orientation with a 1-day debrief.

Demographics & Policies
This agency invites:
- Non-English speaking candidates (For short term we can accept non-English speakers if we have someone on the field who can speak their language. English is the internal language of WEC and all full-time WEC missionaries are required to speak English. We have English training with a number of our sending bases worldwide.)
- Non-North American Candidates (We have workers from 60 countries. Each is considered on their own merits and on the basis of a sponsoring church.)
- Graduating international students to work in their home country (This is almost always for short term. For long term if a national church has been established, we may have an agreement that nationals work under the authority of the church.)
- Those who practice ?charismatic? gifts such as prophecy, speaking in tongues, healing prayer, etc. (The exception would be those who feel the gifts, especially tongues are mandatory for salvation or mandatory as evidence of being spirit-filled. We do believe all the gifts are operational today, but the Spirit chooses which gifts are to be given to whom.)
- Divorced candidates (We do not accept those divorced more than once. We will consider those divorced after conversion if the reason was desertion or infidelity.)
