Questions about: Money and Missions

Holli: (12/10/06) i am currently living in china and teaching english. i will be returning to the states in june. my heart is m work. however, i have a lot of loans to pay pack...i'm not sure what to do on my return. i would love to work doing m work...but i have so much money to pay back. are there any m jobs in the states that help you pay back your loans while being to do m work? thank you! holli cherie

Jack: I guess one option, Holli, would be to get a job in a church working with youth or an organization that does ministry. The problem is that these jobs will not pay you very much, so it would take you a very long time to pay off the loan you owe.

Probably a better solution is to just plan to do a secular job for several years to get back on your financial feet. Although you might not be able to spend full time in ministry, it would be a challenge for you to practice some of the skills you learned in China where you made contacts and learned to share "on the job" and in your free time.

Meanwhile you can share your burden with friends and churches and you might be able to raise the money you need. This would also give you a good support base when you plan to do your cross-cultural m work.

God has a plan for you. Part of spiritual growth is coming ever closer to Him, becoming more sensitive to His voice, as He opens the way for you.
