| Josh: (05/24/06) Is there a way to find out what agencies/organizations are fully funded where raising money is not required? or are they all mixed together? And the agencies that require you to raise money, do they normallly show you the best ways, stratagies, etc.? Thanks for your time in advance.

| Jack: Josh, I would say that in general the denominational agencies (Presbyterian, Methodist, etc.) usually fund the missionaries they accept. Almost without exception, the other agencies require that candidates raise their own support.
I don’t know how much orientation different agencies give. When we went to Latin America some 40 years ago we received none, but I think mission entities do better now. p A great help is Willliam P. Dillon. People Raising. A Practical Guide to Raising Support (Moody Press 1993). Though a bit dated, his suggestions are very practical and helpful. Blessings on you. If God has called you, the seal on His call will be the provision of your needs, as you call on Him, seek His face, obey Him, and trust Him. Jack |
