| Jack: Sarah, in Acts 18:3, we read that Paul met Aquila and Priscilla, "and because he was a tentmaker as they were, he stayed and worked with them." In other words, Paul was a missionary but often he had to support himself by mending tents. This has become a common expression to describe "bi-vocational missionaries," those whose purpose is to share the Gospel but for one reason or another need to secure secular employment to support themselves.
