| Jacy: (11/25/07) Hi Jack,
I finished college with some debt, and currently I am woking for a non-profit organization. And in the free time, I help out with reaching out to students. My job pays pretty low, so I thought about having a second part time job to pay my loans. Yet somehow I couldn't get myself to do it because I thought reaching out to lost souls is more important than paying off my debt. But I do feel burdened about my loan, it is not a good feeling. So I can't decide if I should drop my ministry and just focus on working for a couple years to pay off my debt. I would really appreciate your advice.

| Jack: I congratulate you, Jacy on having only "some debt!" Since we are not dealing with concrete figures, it is hard for me to talk to you about options. I think this is a good question for your pastor, since he knows you and can ask you questions about job opportunities that you may not know about. Or perhaps there is a person in your church who is savvy about finances and could give you good advice.
It may be that the Lord would have you to work hard on finances, get out of debt, and then develop a long term pattern which includes personal evangelism. Keep putting the matter before the Lord, pray with some especially close friends, and I'm sure that the Lord will guide you, Jacy. Jack |
