| Meg: (05/10/07) I saw your recent posting about God's will, and I currently find myself struggling with this. I have to say I slightly frustrated with your answer. I know you have to say those things because you don't know were every one is spiritually, but I am doing those things to the best of my ability. I know I am called to missions, but I don't know how exactly to follow this. I am in college and I don't know what to major in to be what God wants me to be. I feel pulled in two completely oposit directions, I don't see how I could follow them both. Every thing seems to rest on this decision, a job (which I desperately need), is something I feel I can't even look for with out first resolving the direction of my life. We I know you are probably to busy but thanks for letting me vent. I don't have any Christian friends to talk to.

| Jack: Thanks, Meg, for venting! I'm sorry that my "recent posting" about God's will frustrated you. As you noted, all I know about anyone who writes me is what they specifically mention, and often I think I could be more helpful if we could just sit down and chat for an hour or two!
My first word to you would be to congratulte you for doing the best that you can. My second word would be to relax a bit! Although you are under great tension and undoubtedly have to make a crucial decision very soon, I would urge you to set aside some time and be quiet before the Lord, recognizing that He loves you, knows your situation, and is well able to help you make a decision. I am sorry that you don't have any Christian friends to talk to. How about your pastor? Your school advisor? Even if he or she isn't a Christian their responsibility is to help you clarify your own thinking so that YOU can make a reaasonable decision. God often meets us in a special way at a time of crisis, but He calls us to seek Him. ("If with all your heart you truly seek Me, you shall surely find me.") There will be times on the mission field that you'll experience an equal crisis. The Lord is working with you, training you to meet these situations, and the best way to learn is to be "thrown into the deep end." But, as Peter experienced, He is there to catch us. Write and let me know how He caught you this time! Praying for you, Meg. Jack |
