| Richard: (07/20/07) Jack, My wife and I are presently on the mission field and we need the services of an organization dedicated to funds handling. Any suggestions?
Richard |
| Jack: Richard, one of the basic reasons missionaries go to the mission field under the supervision of an agency is precisely to receive help with handling their funds: receiving them, sending receipts recognized by the IRS, giving counsel regarding the income tax declaration, etc. However, to benefit from this service, one needs to be screened by the agency and approved by them.
I would recommend that you look around you where you work and find missionaries working with an agency that appeals to you. You could then communicate with them regarding the possibility of joining them and what both requirements and benefits would be. The other possibility is asking one of your supporting churches to handle this service for you. Some large churches actually serve as a mission agency and are familiar with these procedures. I can't give you any suggestions since I have no idea where you are. Jack |
