| vanessa: (09/04/08) our family would like to go to nicaragua and start a childrens home there. we are coordinating our efforts with a small non profit organization. however, we have to raise our own funds. how, where and what do we do to get that started? |
| Jack: Vanessa, I applaud you for your vision and desire to help children in a far off land. I am glad that you are coordinating efforts with a non profit organization that can give receipts to donors.
Here are some articles that may be of help to you. On the web: http://home.snu.edu/~hculbert/funds2.htm Although it is aimed at raising support for a short term mission, there are principles that you could use. One of the best books on the subject is: William P. Dillon. People Raising: A Practical Guide to Raising Support (Moody Press, 1993). Although it is 25 years old, it still is one of the best. May the Lord bless you all as you seek His provision for your future ministry in Nicaragua. Jack |
