| Laverle: (06/01/09) Have you heard of the Emerging Church? I guess there is both good and bad mixed in with it. How important is truth? Or man's wisdom compared to God's wisdom?
I attended Urbana 70 & 76 and would like to recommend it to friends and churches. |
| Jack: I have done a little reading on the Emerging Church. I see it as an example of individuals once again seeking to reform the Church, shedding outworn patterns and responding to current needs and challenges. Truth is essential and unchanging, though forms may change. Thus, we constantly need to be brought back to the Scripture. The difficulty, of course, is in the interpretation. I am glad that you desire to recommend Urbana to friends and churches. May your tribe increase! Jack |
