Questions about: Urbana

Carlton: (08/11/09)

Jack:

Our church has a couple in their 40's that are looking to go into vocation ministry in about 5 - 10 years.

We were wondering if URBANA would be a good option for their development to future considerations of ministry.

In other words, is URBANA a good idea for a couple who are looking to be FINISHERS.

Carlton

Jack:

I think so, Carlton. Some reasons:

1) It would expand their understanding of the world situation, give them a broader background.

2) On the field they are going to meet a lot of younger missionaries. Rubbing shoulders with today’s university students will give them a deeper understanding of what younger people are like today, and what they are hearing when speakers talk about missions.

3) Visiting the booths of the mission agencies will amaze them at the creative ways people are presenting the Gospel in so many parts of the world today.

4) The seminars will enable them to delve into subjects of personal interest.

5) They will meet all kinds of people they may like to keep up with – very possibly, other Finishers!

6) If their call is from the Lord, I’m sure it will be confirmed as they hear the Bible expositions and listen to the speakers.

7) They’ll find a unique display of literature that will hone their sensitivity to what they are getting involved in.

Perhaps others, but these occur to me right now.

Thanks for asking.

Jack
