Objectives & Availability Position Desired and Job Category: Don't worry if you don't have a specific job in mind. But if you do, be as specific as possible. Don't get too anxious if you're uncertain of what title most fits your interests or under what category said title logically goes. If there's more you want to convey about your specific position interests than what you're able to here, be sure to share this information later in the resumé. Regarding your Date of Availability and Preferred Length of Commitment, again, be as specific as possible. If you're uncertain about these answers, discuss this with the agencies with whom you interact. 6.
Experience and Background Educational Background: The less work experience you've had, the more important this category will be. If you're a student presently, this obviously will be of utmost importance. List your most recent educational experiences first. Be sure to include any pertinent seminars or ministry-related training. Work/Ministry Experience & Volunteer / Local Church Involvement: For each of these categories, list entries in reverse chronological order. Be brief yet potent in your description of each experience. Again, use good action words. Denomination/Church
Tradition I Am Affiliated With Languages: Knowledge and use of languages beyond your native tongue can be a valuable asset on the missions field. Be sure to share this information. If you do not know many or any other languages, or even if you struggle with learning new languages, don't be discouraged. Many agencies have rigorous and effective language training programs to equip you. If you're currently learning a language, mention that here. Other Information (optional): Review everything you've already shared and consider what you may have omitted. Now is your chance to fill in the gaps or convey those achievements and interests that defy categories. Again, put your best foot forward. Personal Testimony (optional): These resumés and interviews are the conduits we've created for matching you with ministry opportuities, but your story is most important for agencies to know you. Share what God has done and is doing in your life, what's really moved you in your relationship with Him. Don't feel you must share. We encourage you to avoid "Christian-ese," and write from the heart. 7.
My Preferences Be as specific as possible, but feel free to choose multiple categories as they apply to you. OK, I'm ready to sign up and use MSearch! |
