Faith Journey
Misusing the Good
Native brilliance without discipline can foster immaturity.
Conviction without compassion can be harsh or cruel.
Habits without review can become addictions.
Love without truth is just mush; truth without love will crush.
Power without justice for all is dangerous.
Strength without grace causes great harm.
Traditions without renewal can become weapons.
Wealth without generosity can be demonic.
Wit without gentleness can destroy others.
Careful stewardship of all things is good work.
“May grace and peace be yours in abundance in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has given us everything needed for life and godliness. Thus he has given us, through these things that we might escape from the corruption that is in the world because of lust, and may become participants of the divine nature.
For this very reason, you must make every effort to support your faith with goodness, and goodness with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with godliness, and godliness with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love…Therefore brothers and sisters, be all the more eager to confirm your call and election, for if you do this, you will never stumble.” (2 Peter 1:2-10)
Lord, help me to choose the good over the convenient,
the right over the acceptable,
and to be a disciplined steward over my resources
on the journey to godliness and faithful service.
