The purpose of the Trek has been to call students to consider ministry to the poorest of the poor in each of the six Trek 2003 cities.
Before departure, students had read 1000 pages of material on urban poverty, with sections relating to particular Trek cities and to specific academic disciplines. Law students, students in health related fields, business and economics majors, and students in the social sciences will have an opportunity to see how their fields of study apply to urban transformation.
