Childcare International
Childcare International commits itself to working with the poor, focusing on children to reach families and villages. Urbana funds will support the medical and evangelistic ministry to five villages in India, around Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.
Compassion International
Compassion International dedicates itself to the development of impoverished children on a long-term basis. Urbana funds will support one particular step further along on this process: leadership development in Haiti further empowering college students to share their talents with their communities.
Enterprise Development International
Enterprise Development International, through business training, mentoring
relationships and loans enable the poor to develop their own microenterprises.
Urbana funds will help empower "at risk" women in Romania in
partnership with the Integra Foundation, Enterprise's Christian and Slovak
counterpart.
Farms International
Farms International works with and through local churches in providing loans and income-generating projects to equip impoverished families with means for self-support. Urbana funds will support two such projects in Haiti and Ecuador.
International Aid
International Aid provides relief, development and training globally to people in need. Urbana funds will help provide women of rural Kosovo with business skill training and Bible study.
International Fellowship of Evangelical Students
The International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES) develops locally-led Christian fellowships among college students around the world. The sponsors of Urbana, InterVarsity/USA, Inter-Varsity Canada and les Groupes Bibliques du Universitaires are all members of the IFES, but will not receive money from the Urbana offering. The Urbana offering will support indigenous staff who lead Christian fellowships for college students in countries with financial need. We will also provide training so they may become increasingly self-supporting.
International Justice Mission
International Justice Mission seeks to serve victims of injustice by providing professional legal counsel. Urbana funds will support the Bombay Justice Center. Its indigenous leadership currently works on rescuing girls from forced prostitution and young children from lives as bonded slaves.
Lanka Evangelical Alliance Development Service
The Lanka Evangelical Alliance Development Service is a Sri Lankan organization
that works in partnership with churches to develop Christian care for the
neglected and disadvantaged. Urbana funds will go to a program to aid the
village of Palaiyuthu whose people are traditionally "low caste."
Malaysian CARE
Malaysian CARE is an indigenous Christian organization that serves poor and underprivileged children, families, the mentally ill, drug addicts, the imprisoned and the disabled. Urbana funds would help this latter group in setting up a resource and development center.
Mission of Mercy
Mission of Mercy strives to meet the physical and spiritual needs of the suffering and poverty-stricken. Urbana funds will serve orphans in Bac Can, Vietnam.
Students International
Students International provides long-term support to the local ministers and opportunities for students to work in fields relating to their interests in Guatemala and the Dominican Republic. Urbana funds will help supply food and vitamins, transportation and one national minister's salary.
World Concern
World Concern aids families through emergency relief, rehabilitation and long-term development. Urbana funds will help families in Yapacani, Bolivia kick-start their livestock farming programs.
World Hope International
World Hope works in partnership with local people to bring relief, economic and social development. Urbana funds will give prosthetic limbs to the maimed victims of civil war in Sierra Leone.
World Relief
World Relief works with the church to help alleviate human suffering. Urbana funds will help the church in Cambodia around Phnom Penh and Thong Khmum.
