2000 Speakers:
He is the president of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA, after working as Vice President for Student affairs at Seattle Pacific University He is passionate about helping others to meet God and love him fervently. He was a Lit major in college, loves long discussions with students, and folk dancing. Lately, he's been reading Father Elijah, by Michael O' Brian, which he describes as "Dallas Willard meets Michael Crichton." He is a closet techno-nerd, and likes mp3s. He is one of those people who seems to be on the move, but when you talk to him, you feel like you're the most important person he's spoken with all day. Steve has quite a breadth of interests. He was a founding member of the Evangelical Environmental Network, and is on the board of the Nehemiah Community Development Corporation, in Madison, Wisconsin. His favorite Urbana memory is singing "Grandes son tus Maravillas" with 19,ooo people at Urbana '96. At past Urbanas he has learned to never underestimate the stamina of college aged Christians. "The human body can only go without sleep for about 96 hours," he says, "just twelve hours shy of a whole Urbana!" |
