A
Monthly Prayer Bulletin for
InterVarsity’s 20th Student Mission
Convention
June 2003
Please join
us in praying for the Urbana Student Mission Convention which is now
less than 200 days away. Below are some springboards to prayer this
month.
- “Your
Kingdom come, your will be done.” (Matt 6:10) Praise the
Lord, that these words which are the theme and heart of the Lord's
prayer have become the theme and heart of Urbana 03 as well. Pray
that all of us who serve on Urbana Teams, as well as the student
delegates, who will come, will grow in our understanding of God's
Kingdom and our full submission to His Reign.
- “After
this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by
two ahead of him to every town and place where he was about to
go. He told them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers
are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers
into his harvest field.” (Luke 10:1-2) Call to the Lord of
the Harvest for new workers in his fields. Pray for the students
whom God is calling to Urbana 03 as a step on their way to a lifetime
in the Harvest Field. Pray for a whole generation to be called
into lifetime service in God's mission in the world. Pray for student
teams who are preparing to go on short-term missions this summer.
Pray for their responsiveness to God's call in their lives and
ask God to shelter them in His good care this summer.
- “Unless
the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the
LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain.” (Psalm
127:1) Ask God to direct the building of Urbana 03. Pray for the
laborers who are working on the convention in these days- from
the details of housing and transportation to the platform speakers
who are preparing their messages. Pray that their work might bear
much fruit in students' lives. Pray for the effectiveness of teams
working together over geographical distances. Pray that our work
may bring glory to God.
