Pray the Way into Urbana 03

A Monthly Prayer Bulletin for
InterVarsity’s 20th Student Mission Convention

October 2003

For almost 2000 years now, followers of Jesus have been forming prayer partnerships across cities and continents so that God's grace and blessing can bring hope to the needy and the Good News about His Son to those who don't yet know him.

We invite you to join us in praying for Urbana 03, InterVarsity’s 20th Student Mission Convention. The Urbana team is assembled and preparations are underway for the event which will take place December 27-31, 2003. As we look ahead, we are committing all our plans to God and praying God would use this convention for His glory and His Kingdom.

"Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice. Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always."

Join the Urbana team in giving thanks to God this month for His wonderful acts, rejoicing in His goodness, and looking to the Lord and His strength as the convention draws nearer.

• Give thanks to God for the Urbana 03 registration process that is well underway and for the many thousands of delegates who have already registered. Pray that all the delegates God is calling would get into the convention before it fills. Pray that the call to Urbana 03 and to missions would sound out in every community of college students who love and follow Jesus in North America.
• Give thanks to God for the ways He has spoken to His people gathered at Urbana conventions since 1946. Pray for the Urbana 03 speakers and seminar leaders as they work on their presentations for the convention. Ask God to plant His words in their hearts and to make His words in Scripture come alive for these faithful women and men as they prepare. Ask God to give them keen wisdom and insight into what this generation of students needs to hear from God as they receive their call to missions.
• Give thanks to God for His faithful love for us. Ask God to reveal His glory at Urbana. Pray for the cloud of God’s presence to descend in Urbana-Champaign the way that it did on Mount Sinai. Jim Tebbe, Urbana 03 Director, longs that students would have an unforgettable experience of the glory of God which would leave them forever changed. Pray with him and the Urbana team for this kind of visitation from God. Ask God to prepare Urbana 03 delegates and staff to meet with Him in the Convention.
