Urbana 03 Leadership Team
Background: I have been a missionary educator for 29 years, and have a passion to see people trained and mobilized for missions. I am Jamaican by birth, but have travelled to over 45 countries, studied, worked and lived in England, Germany and Switzerland for over half of my life. With my experience and training in intercultural studies, missiology and theology, I also have a deep passion for diversity, contextualization and reconciliation especially in the Body of Christ. My pastoral and military training also helps me to understand peoples of diverse faith and background, and I love to mentor and disciple people so that they can achieve God's best in their lives. Before coming on staff with InterVarsity as the Associate Director for Seminars and Exhibits, I served as a consultant with Urbana 2000 and was a seminar leader. I am excited about my work with Urbana, and feel blessed to be a member of a dynamic team of dedicated, gifted, and consecrated brothers and sisters who are passionate about God's Kingdom. As the Seminars and Exhibits Director, I have the added joy of working closely with hundreds of evangelical missions agencies and seminar leaders whose love for God and His world is truly astounding. I love to travel, and always relish the thought of visiting new and exotic places and experiencing other cultures. I especially love to try new dishes, fruits and vegetables in the new place I go. I think I am a great cook, I love photography, fishing, classical music and stay glued to the History and Discovery channels on TV. The most recent and exciting book that I have read is Grace Matters, by Chris Rice. To contact Urbana with general inquiries, please use our contact form.
