Whole Life Stewardship
InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA is committed to Discipleship of the Mind (learning and thoughtful Biblical reflection in every area of life) and Whole Life Stewardship (proclaiming Jesus as Lord over all creation and culture and integrating faith, life and vocation in service to Him).
To this end, Marketplace Ministries and Ministry in Daily Life (ivmdl.org) were developed by Pete Hammond (brief bio here) in the 1980s to provide resources, networks and encouragement to those pursuing these values.
Many organizations in the US and around the world have since taken up this vision. The following organizations and websites provide extensive resources and networks:
InterVarsity Ministries
Beyond InterVarsity- Coalition for Ministry in Daily Life
- AVODAH Institute
- Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA)
- The High Calling of our Daily Work
- The International Coalition of Workplace Ministries (ICWM)
Urbana.org provides educational resources and networks to equip and call students and others to missions in the world. With the retirement of Pete Hammond, we are privileged to continue to connect students and those interested in missions to these outstanding Ministry in Daily Life resources.
