INTERVARSITY CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP MULTI-ETHNIC RESOURCES
By Pete Hammond
InterVarsity has been on a long, often complex, and difficult journey in its desire to be truly multi-ethnic. We have this conviction because of our biblical understanding of the value of every person, and because of our desire to be a witness to—and reflection of—the kingdom of God on earth.1 One aspect of that process has been the development of thoughtful resources on the needs and issues in this field to help our campus staff, students and the church.
Here is a collection of books, videos and publications developed by InterVarsity staff, our Board of Trustees members, guest speakers, alumni/ae or advisors over the past thirty-three years. The first explicitly cross-cultural book about race from InterVarsity Press was published in 1970.2 Some of these works have been released with other publishers (33 listed here), while 63 books on the subjects of multi-ethnicity, racial reconciliation, cross-cultural work or diversity were published by InterVarsity Press (IVP). Eight other publications or videos have been produced by InterVarsity/USA, its Triennial Urbana® conventions, or the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students.3
I have listed these products in four thematic groups based upon the focus of the work. I have also included professional information and InterVarsity involvement about each author where possible, to provide the reader/researcher a bit of context. Titles that I know are currently in print are in bold.
