A TEAM FOR PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Ex.38:21-23
Moses pulled together a trio to form a leadership team for the complicated project of building the tabernacle:
Ithamar, the youngest son of Aaron and Elisheba (Ex. 6:23). He functioned much as a comptroller or accountant might, keeping track of the many articles and resources collected for the building (38:21. Later, he also supervised two priestly families of Levites (Num. 4:2133).
Bezalel, the son of Uri of the tribe of Judah. He was essentially the designer or architect of the project, providing designs and giving instructions for all the various craftspeople working in stone, metal, wood, and weaving (Ex. 35:3036:1; 38:22).
Aholiab, the son of Ahisamach of the tribe of Dan. He was a skilled artisan who provided instruction in the crafts needed for the project, especially in engraving, design, and embroidery (35:3436:1; 38:23).
Their final performance review showed that they and their workers did according to all that the Lord had commanded Moses (39:32, 42)the ultimate stamp of approval! No wonder Moses was pleased (39:43).
Believers today have also been designed to function in their communities, where various temperaments, skills, resources, and strengths are needed to produce products and services of benefit to others. Are you employed in a way that makes the best use of your gifts?
