1 Tim.3:3
Many church members
today work in the marketplace where the mark of success is making and accumulating
wealth. The same was true in Timothy’s congregation at Ephesus. So Paul warns
about those who are “greedy for money” (1 Tim. 3:3). He has much more
to say about wealth in chapter 6. See “Christians and Money” at 1 Tim.
6:6–19.
